Created in honor of Kojiro Sasaki, who is depicted on Samurai’s leather patches and is renowned as a master swordsman alongside Musashi Miyamoto, this special model will only be released on Samurai’s 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, and subsequent anniversaries. It features a unique cut exclusive to this model.

The fabric used here is a newly-created lefthand twill denim with a rough yet soft feel, crafted from Samurai's uneven Zero 17 oz. yarn. Featuring our 17 oz. Bushido selvedge denim, this material is made from Samurai's hard-textured and slubby #5 yarn, woven on an old-fashioned shuttle loom. Despite being relatively heavy denim with a strong, rough feel, you can look forward to high-contrast fades and alternating areas of light and dark as the fabric ages. This blend of paradoxes was inspired by Kojiro's flexible yet rough swordsmanship style, famously demonstrated when he is said to have sliced a swallow in half using a sword over a meter long. The design is a classic style with a buckle back and a regular straight silhouette.

Kojiro Sasaki was one of the most famous samurai in Japan and the greatest rival of Musashi Miyamoto. He died after losing a duel with Musashi at Ganryu Island in 1612. Known for wielding a massively long sword, often referred to as a ‘clothesline’ (in reference to the long poles used for hanging laundry), most of Kojiro’s life remains shrouded in mystery.

While the fabric itself is exceptional, it is the meticulous details that truly set these jeans apart. Featuring exclusive printed pocket lining, iron-made rising-sun buttons, a solid buckle back, and a custom cow leather patch, each element is meticulously crafted to enhance the overall vintage aesthetic.

As with many other Samurai Jeans, this limited edition runs slightly small in the one-wash version. In general, we recommend choosing one size larger than your usual. However, as always, we suggest checking the size chart first to find your perfect fit. It is unsanforized but one-washed, so there will be no further shrinkage.
